When the losers defeat Pennywise in chapter 1, a few months after everyone starts leaving Derry. Eddie moves to a different country leaving 6 of them, and they slowly all move away. Richie is now 16 nearly 17, and it has been 4 years since they've all seen each other. Richie is known as the class clown, but frankly has no friends. Eddie comes along to the school as a transfer student, and Richie and Eddie recognise each other immediately. From here on, they both catch feelings and have to forget the past and focus on the future to learn to love each other properly.
