Book two in the psycho series.

When Adele Campbell and her closest friends become the target of Ariel's new foe, despite her many attempts to steer clear of breaking the law, she finds herself back in the epicentre of Harleyville's chaotic nature as she fights to protect her friends and unmask her new tormentor before it's too late. In a whirlpool of mysteries, lies, deception and murders, Ariel Campbell must once again claw herself out of the grips of darkness and prove to the world that she was completely sane.

"Oh my god, oh my god what do we do!?" Lewis's legs buckled in underneath her and she went crashing down onto the road, the gravel beneath her knees digging into her skin. But she ignored the pain of stones penetrating her flesh because she was already in utter agony. Tears flowed down her cheeks like a broken dam and her body racked with sobs, sobs that were almost like the wails of a banshee into the dark chilly night.

Ariel clenched her jaw tightly and lowered herself down beside Lewis who was curled up into herself, her hair matted to her cheeks, her eyes wide and bloodshot red, peering up at Ariel in fear, confusion and distraught. "This is what we do, we have two options. We burn the car and draw in attention from god knows who! Or we drive this bloody car into the lake nearby."

"What if w-we get caught!" Lewis exclaimed frantically as her eyes snapped around her surroundings warily. Ariel cupped Lewis' cheeks in her hand and tilted her head towards her. Lewis wondered to herself how Ariel could be so calm, so nonchalant, as if they hadn't just killed a man. And Ariel knew those questions swirled through her friend's mind, but at the moment she couldn't care less what Lewis thought of her. Her only hope and focus were to get the hell out of there.

[Book #2 in the Nystrom series] [18+TW: mature content, heavy topics, language] I push the feeling away and ultimately concentrate my gaze on his upper body, which still bears the traces of my lipstick. "You did not remove them?" He smirks and closes the book as I chuckle and trace the lip print with my finger. I smile at the marks, I wanted him to be mine as much as I was his. The marks reflect that. He raises his eyebrows as soon as his eyes land on mine. "Oh?" His voice is hoarse and low when he murmurs, "You like them?" "I do, they look pretty good on you." I admit, gazing up at him when I see him smirk and I wonder what he is thinking about, but when he grabs my hips and pulls me into his lap, my question is already resolved. "Why don't you take some pictures then, love?" εꨄ︎з 𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐘𝐀 𝐇𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈, the psychopath. METANOIA - BOOK 2 She disappeared like the wind, but she haunted me in my worst nightmares, bringing me back to the very night I'd lost her: a cold, clammy, metallic night. Alana remained a light memory on my lips, a bitter smell in my lungs, a shivering warmth in my arms, and the anger with which she looked at me with her blue eyes. Thoughts of her seemed too intimate to indulge in, but my heart beat harder at the mere mention of her name. Everything was different now-nothing and no one was the same - and only now did I realise how important she was, not only to her business but to her family. Chasing after Liam took on a different meaning for me now - slipping away from me like air, I never gave up trying to get to him and bring the consequences of his cold-blooded actions down on him; I hadn't forgotten the horror he'd done to my mother, what he'd put me through and what he'd put Alana through. I will find her and take her - not just out of Weber's hands, but out of the darkness into which she had driven herself.
