Tessa had always believed that all the bad things in her life were her own fault. After all, she was the one who was overly aggressive, the one who got into fights one too many times. She was the girl who no other school would take because she was dangerous. But when Tessa finds herself in the world of the Expanse she finds that there might have been a reason for all her unending anger, and boy does she hate the reason.
Alex hated his name to his core. It was the only thing his parent had given him before they sold him into work for the lord of the city. Alexander the savior of men, it was so far from what Alex was. The youngest of the servants of the castle who also had the lowest payment, of only 2 shingles a day. Alex had no time or energy to be the savior of anything, and even if he did Alex knew he didn't have a brave bone in his body. So when the castle receives a prisoner of great importance Alex is extremely confused by his own actions as he looks in the dungeon after hearing from the lord's son (who he may or may not have a crush on) that the prisoner was a bird folk sorcerer.
