The world has gone back in time by fifteen years, and only those alive on the day prior to The Reset remember their lives before it happened. Technology, politics, security, entertainment, all have become out of date overnight. People who had settled down, bought a house and had a partner and 2.4 children are suddenly finding themselves living with their parents and studying in high school again. Their loved ones who had passed away are back wandering around, oblivious to their previous fate.
There is pandemonium, but also opportunities for the unscrupulous, as Daniel Hay discovers. A young man who had, prior to The Reset, achieved nothing beyond conning others to get by, he finds himself back with his (until recently, deceased) parents, on the day of his graduation, yet to make the many mistakes from his pre-Reset life. There is a black market of people claiming to be professionals willing to work at cut-throat prices, partly for money, partly to reclaim their identities as respectable professionals. Daniel had neither of those things.
Only those in desperate situations or with an excess of stupidity would trust someone from the black market, and Daniel knows there are plenty of both. Hoping that his lack of qualifications before The Reset will go undetected, Daniel hopes to make a quick buck giving counselling sessions in his parents' summer house. With the world in turmoil, who would notice a young scam artist trying to give therapy to people who have no one else to turn to?All Rights Reserved
