As a new Netflix documentary about the Britpop era is filmed, of course they have to interview the person who has witnessed it all. Being the sister of the most infamous brothers of the era and the love interest of their biggest rival must have been quite a ride - or was it?

The year is 1990, Manchester. 17 year old Lyla McCann is all swagger, eyeliner, and untamed ambition. Music is everything to Lyla, it is the air she breathes and the smoke she exhales, it's in the coffee she drinks and woven through her battered Doc Martens. This was the year that Lyla started her new band with her 3 best friends to form "Velvet Arcade", a gritty, hypnotic band built upon working-class grit, raw talent and endless dreams of glamour and stadium lights. It is also the year in which she meets her new family friends the Gallaghers, and its the year she meets the magnetic and cocky supernova that is her mums best friends son, Liam Gallagher. It's not till 1994 where the two meet again and develop an unexpected rivalry as both their bands rise to fame and begin to reach celestial heights. Join Lyla as her and her friends go from their small council estate in Chorlton-cum-hardy, to a world of drugs, sex and good old fashioned rock and roll as they become one of the most successful britpop bands of the nineties and Lyla begins a hatred of the youngest Gallagher (or so she thinks).
