Hilary has cerebral palsy. Her body is limited, but her imagination isn't. She loves to imagine things. Her school life is hard, and she is sick of being different. She is very smart, but she can't talk. Her mind is crammed full of funny, smart, cheeky, snide comments, but she can never get herself to speak. But what does she do when she gets sick of it all?

"What's wrong with her doctor?" her mother asked and the doctor sighed and looked at the four years old girl with a pale and bland but pretty face. "She has alexithymia" he said. Louisa was born without emotions. She couldn't feel anything. Her classmates bullied her because of it but it didn't matter to her because she didn't feel pain or sadness. Josh stood up for her and they became friends... More likely, she became his friend. To Louisa, he was someone who didn't bully her. Surprisingly, she started changing her mind when they got to their last year of high school.
