It could have been anyone, anyone at all. But it had to be them. Sometimes they wondered if they would rather have been the ones who disappeared. Because after the snap, everyone changed.
An emotionally distant Peter Quill, a somewhat supportive Drax, a nervous Mantis, a dying Peter Parker and a powerless Stephen Strange are all stranded in space. They don't know how to get away from the middle of nowhere, let alone how to get back to Earth.
So when what's left of S.H.I.E.L.D manages to track down their co-ordinates and send an aircraft out to get them, they're grateful. But soon after stepping onto land, they realise they aren't the only ones feeling the way that they are. Every single member of the Original Six is gone, and it's only now that everyone realises they can't handle themselves without the Avengers.
It's up to everyone who's left to figure out what to do about this looming Thanos problem.
With the help of a Quill who wants revenge, the return of a long-forgotten enemy and the deep rabbit hole that is time travel, they more or less have everything they need to give this "being a hero" business a go. But are they willing to step up? And if they are, do they really have what it takes? Is the world ready to meet a team of heroes that seems a lot more like one of misfits?

She never thought she would ever meet anyone as egotistical as her brother, but boy was she wrong. She never wanted to be in the lime light like Tony, so she kept a quiet private life, even changed her surname, not wanting to draw attention to herself. After a public disagreement, that resulted in her suspension, when she hit him, he had found out that she was none other than Tony Starks sister. He attempts to make amends, by inviting her to the party in his honour, in hopes of showing the board that she was an asset to the hospital, when his life takes a turn for the worst, and an accident occurs. Both their worlds collide, seeking help from each other, but can they put their differences aside, or will it tear them apart? After the events of Civil War, the Avengers were left fractured emotionally and politically. Some became fugitives, others worked in secret, and several walked away after the battle in Wakanda. Thanos did come... but he never got the chance to snap. The Avengers, divided and bleeding, stood together one last time with unexpected help and stopped him. No one died, but the scars ran deep. Now they are trying to get back together. The world, however, lost faith in its heroes. Governments stopped trusting them. Oscorp rose quietly from the shadows. And old enemies like Zemo began gathering strength, ready to strike when the world's protectors were at their weakest. Nick Fury disappeared after the final battle. But he never stopped watching. From the shadows He was looking for survivors. People with conviction. People who had lost and kept going. People like her. You weren't just another recruit. You were the fire they'd forgotten they needed. "They fight for what was. You... you'll fight for what's next. The world doesn't need more broken idols. It needs new fire. And you... you burn." Red Winter
It's been almost two years since the defeat of Thanos & the effects of the snap was successfully reversed. The world has slowly picked up the pieces & everyone worked hard to resume their lives right off where the Decimation left them hanging. Some succeeded, as easily as pressing the play button after putting a movie on a long pause, while some were never the same again despite regaining everything and everyone they have lost. The Avengers were the lucky ones. Lucky enough to go back to their normal or fortunate enough to be given a fresh start. Tony & Pepper got married & jetted off in a private island to finally start their long overdue family life. Sam moved back to D.C & resumed his work at the VA. Rhodey continued working as a military consultant & Wakanda has never been more occupied as it became the number one tourist spot in less then a year. Clint went back to retirement tugging Wanda along with him to his farm where Laura welcomed her with open arms. Thor & Bruce were off-planet helping the remaining Asgardians settle on a new home. Fury rebuilt his super spy network with Maria overseeing operations at the Avengers Facility, recruiting, training a new breed of response team. And Steve finally got Bucky back & they have spent the past year back in Brooklyn, traveling the world once in a while & even participating in USO tours and fairs. Everyone tried to move on and rightly so because at the end of the day, that's pretty much what's expected of everyone after any tragedy. Natasha, too has moved on. The only problem is, she chose to move on alone. * I don't own any of these characters or wish to infringe on any copy or intellectual rights.
