It is while on patrol that Tim Drake and Damian Wayne spot this camouflaged girl of the night and try to stop her as she breaks into a local convenience store, not to steal the cash but the food. After obsessively tracking her for a week, Tim finally catches up with her, finding her holed up in an abandoned building with another younger girl she is trying to care for. Bruce Wayne doesn't hesitate to take them in, but Ria's mistrust of them leads to tension in the house. Her powers are dangerous, volatile and no matter how hard Tim tries, he can't get her to open up to him. As Ria's shadowed past slowly catches up with her, the Bat Family finally realizes that they have no idea what kind of forces they're dealing with. Humans don't understand how someone can be both dead and alive, and that fact scares them, it opens up the possibility of a threat even if there is no evidence of malevolent intent.
