His failures from the past cases resulted him to gain a bad image in the agency where he has been currently working at, and that humiliation began to corrupt his mind and caused him to lose confidence in investigating.
 
When he got a new task accompanied by his partner Hayashi, the simple case that had given to them turned into a complicated one. All started in a note but ended up into a suicide.
  
Wishing to change his reputation, to get rid on his past failures, and to stand out from his fellow,  Azuma's determination to solve the case has been overflowing. Notwithstanding by his personal feelings, would he able to solve it? Or would just fail it over and over again?
