she basked into the idea that someday she'd find a boy and he'd look at her the way everyone wants to be looked at. she'd look at him and feel at home, as if everything was finally in place. she convinced herself time and time again that everything that happened along the way, every other boy was just getting her closer to that one look, that one feeling of complete joy and security. she basked in that doubt-filled idea and wondered, far too soon, if it ever come, if it was a foolish fantasy, it was worth waiting for.
