The war had more than taken it's tole on the golden trio, and Harry was worn, tired and filled with sadness and grieving. He felt so much sorrow, and had no idea what to do with it. The Weasley's had taken a month or so to get back to their somewhat normal selves... but not everyone was the same. And you can't after all of the losses that they had dealt with. But Harry feels something heal whenever he is around Hermione. She had always known what to do and what the right thing to say was, and that was one thing that hadn't changed. Death's Gift
After the war, Harry distances himself from everyone, feeling empty. He spends a year having locked himself up in Grimmuald Place, consumed with guilt. When he's finally drawn from his Godfather's, now his, home by the Weasleys, Hermione appears at his front door with urgent and unsettling news. Harry realizes the hidden horrors of his years at Hogwarts and, together, Harry and his friends formulate a plan to level the playing field.
