Janus was okay without a soulmate, truly, he wasn't even lying this time. He would never have a companion like everyone else, but he was never worried about it. No soulmate meant no worrying over what someone thought of him, because really, he didn't care about other's opinions - aside from his friend Remy. He had gotten used to his life, *enjoyed* it even - though most with soulmates didn't understand how - content to simply go to college, work, and do whatever else in his free time.

That is until five idiots piled into a circle booth at his diner. Then it all when to shit.


Okay, so funny story, I was too lazy - or just not in the mood? - to write Janus and Patton together, so I stuck Patton with Remy and Emile. So if you came for Moceit only, it isn't here, sorry. I'll make it in some other fic, but not this one. This is polysanders, and Roman and Remus have the same soulmates but NO REMROM IS HERE.  I think that is all. Also, please be cautious if you are below 13, this has swearing and other heavier themes. On Logan's birthday, he, Roman, Patton, and Virgil get their dreams. It is customary to leave a basic introduction card next to your bed, as the Dream Scape copies reality. One of the four, however, gives no hint to who he is. Follow the group as they begin the search for each other. There are trigger warnings by chapter. After spending several years in a stable environment they're moving again, this time not only are they leaving behind friends but also their mother's grave. Virgil has to convince his twin brother and their dad that, despite his terrible migraines and sometimes crippling anxiety, he won't go down the same road as his mother. On top of having an overprotective family he has to navigate being the new kid in his senior year of high school, making friends, falling in love, and learning how to save a life. How hard can the next nine months be? All he has to do is hold on and convince his new best friend to do the same. Fond nonetheless. They're as close as he'd like them to be. Which is very, very close. A job, where he gets to see that one cute coworker every day, and they can trade snarky comments about whatever sparks their interest that day. Nothing like handing someone a hot coffee while a hot guy whispers hot takes in your ear. A secret, double life, fighting the supervillain Illusion. Who, it just so happens, has the most adorable smile and laugh and eyes and - superheroes were not supposed to be attracted to the very people trying to hurt their city, right? Nor were they supposed to help them defend it against an even worse, more deadly one. Roman Trente has, in summary, the perfect life. Too bad soulmates are a thing. ~ a few things: 1) read the a/n! 2) this is not just 'who gets the guy' there's a story here as well. also starting with chapter 14 there's some 'glitches' in the text! those are purposeful. i did hide some code in there (not much most of it is number spam) so study those if you want!! scroll past them too and you won't miss much, they're basically an easter egg :) that's all! thanks for your interest yall :)))
