Loveday Byrd was always an interesting person...

This story is the tale of Loveday Byrd, the boy she loves and her best friend. A twisted life is one that all three lead but wouldn't change for the world. They have each other and that's all they need. Well, for now at least. With The Count constantly trying to kill them, the pressures from their superiors and trying to hide their top secret jobs, it's a hard life for these three. So when one of them dies and the other goes cold, how will the other stay standing? Especially when a smart mouthed kid turns up, it gets hard. The story of The Wonder Boy, his Little Byrd and The Comeback Kid. Bradley Baker, LB and Hitch face everything life can throw together until The Count plays his last ace card.

This story is inspired by the characters in the Ruby Redfort series by Lauren Child. I hope you like it.

There are a lot of time jumps so I hope you don't get too confused 😐 xxx

"What if she goes to the cops, Dad? That bruise on her face is enough to get you arrested and charged with assault." "What? You mean when she tripped over the mess you made in the kitchen?" His smile is so wicked that it chills me to my core. "She ain't going to the cops. Hell, she'll probably be back here tomorrow." "You're a bastard," I whisper, tears filling my eyes. "No wonder Mom left! She probably couldn't bear to spend another second with-" I'm pushed to the floor. Book 1 in The Life and Death Duet This is the story of a boy who didn't think he could ever love somebody and a girl who definitely didn't believe in the idea of it. The story of Ace Morano and Harper Santos. They went from childhood friends to complete strangers due to an accident that cost them her memories of him and a broken heart on his part. Years later, they become friends. She now only knows him as the boy who's been known to be ruthless and cold, not the boy she'd known long ago. Could he help her remember? They were complete opposites, yet alike in some ways, but still got pulled together by an invisible yet strong force... Love. Was that enough? And most importantly, would that change both of their perspectives on it? Two souls living two completely different lives. With different pasts. With secrets they both refused to reveal. Could they make it? Will she fall for death before he can catch her? _______________________________ "Harper." he stated, blankly. His deep voice almost gave me a heart attack. I looked at him, slightly shocked. Wait- How does he know my name? Is he going to kill me? I gulped. "Ace." I muttered quietly and looked away, back to the river view. I sighed, taking it all in again. ©2021.
