Ikari's scar is the first thing that people notice. And it drives them away, since it is the symbol of her father, one of the most feared villains of all time... before he died.

To Ikari's father, being strong meant everything. And to him, Ikari was weak.

The thought that Ikari is not worthy enough has been beaten into her so thoroughly that she holds a deep hatred for her father and his profession. In order to defy him and avenge her brother's death, once and for all, Ikari decides to become the number one hero. And to do that, she needs to attend UA.

When she passes the exams and becomes a student, as expected, many people avoid her for her intimidating demeanor and she is quickly deserted. But there's another loner- Todoroki Shoto.

And unsurprisingly, he wants to be number one as well.

"Who did this to you?"

"No one, Todoroki. And if you ever ask me again, I'll give you a black eye just like mine, pretty boy."
