During GLaDOS' neurotoxin experiment at Aperture Science a scientist called Doug Rattman and the daughter of another scientist survive.
A few years later they are both used for testing the Handheld Portal Device until they find a way to hide.
In about 2010 a new Test Subject is awakening and from the hidden paths in Aperture Science, the girl, cared for by Rattman, starts to record herself on her way to freedom.
This little fanfiction plays at the time of the first Portal game and contains spoilers of the game itself and the comic "Lab Rat".
My mother tongue is not English and I'm not working on it all the time, so there won't be consistent updates.

White was given to an organization right after she was born, she was a mutant of her own kind, she was known as 72. Growing up from that place until she was five, she never knew anything else except for avoid the needles, avoid the people in white coats and to stay strong. The day she turned five though, was the day everything changed. One kind guard set her free, she felt like a bird, she felt like she could fly and soar through the sky, to forget everything that happened in her past. She did for a while, but of course everything caught up to her. A year passed and White still remembered everything. From the smallest detail of the day. She was only six, on that day, exactly a year after she was able to escape from the Border, the only person that cared for her was killed, she was caught. She was back in bars, and the words that the guard told her still echoed in her mind. "Stay safe, stay alive," her life rules. And the years fly by, and still nothing happened. Nora's lived on the island all her life--catching food, doing experiments, keeping what she considers a safe distance away from the Wolf. Then he starts acting weird. Right in the middle of working on figuring out the problem, she falls asleep. Genex wakes up with barely any memory of anything from his 13 years of life. All he knows is that he's got a pet saber-tooth tiger named Fluffy, his mom is dead, and that he's got a girl named Nora in his head (when he's really not supposed to). He woke up to the Aregonian gods, Osires and Zios, telling him about training and his future and staying away from Pantheos, the Aregonian god of the underworld. But everything they tell him to do, Nora says the opposite. Everything they say, Nora hints that they're lying to him. Unsure of what to think, and with Nora continuously telling him to simply "look deeper" and "wait a little longer", Genex decides he needs to find the answer, and he needs to find the answer now. -> This story can also be found in To Be a Writer, but I wanted to publish it seperately as well. :)Complete
