A second person story. I wrote the opening in an attempt to get people to understand how I feel. It is loosely based around my life experiences but is still purely fictional. Could be triggering if you suffer from social anxiety or selective mutism but if you don't then I hope it will help you understand people who do have these things better. Also mentions of suicide which could be triggering.

"They say opposites attract," but this is ridiculous! Sumiko Areko is a girl with a past. And not just any past. After having transferred to every school in the city at least once, she arrives at the school without a voice. And not in the way most people would think. In Sumiko's case, she has no voice. This was due to a surgical removing of her vocal cords after they were almost fatally damaged. After being bullied constantly for being mute, she meets some people. People who change the course of her life. For better. Or worse.
