The two gods in charge of the balance of the multiverse have disappeared. Dream and Blueberry have been trying their best to hold the line against Nightmare and his lackeys, but when a fight goes south and Dream is near-fatally injured, what is Nightmare to do but take him to his castle?

Although Dreamtale and all of its characters belong to Joku, this story relies heavily on fanon and headcanons. This is because I find the canon of Dreamtale to be unsatisfying. In my opinion, canon Dream is a mary-sue, Nightmare is a victim who lives to show how good his brother is, and all of the endings fail, in my eyes, to tie up the loose ends in the story in a satisfactory way. Remember, this is just my opinion! Similarly, most characters depicted in this story vary slightly from their respective canons, this has been down to fit the story better. I will try to adhere to canon as much as possible, though!

The Multiverse for a long time has been an endless loop. Both inside the AUs and in itself. Error and Ink making a truce then breaking it in any possible way. When Ink is exploring the au's, he stumbles upon a new au where he meets a new friend named Nightmare. The both of them create a close bond, and Nightmare explains how the villagers mistreats him and how they treasure Dream. Ink knew Dream for awhile, but Dream never mentions Nightmare. One day Nightmare had enough of the villagers and ate the apple of negativity and leaves Dreamtale empty.
