Her father is a marine biologist and he loves his job. ~ What other choice does Ayame have? Her father takes the job, since the pay is well and they need money to pay off debts. He makes arrangements for her to live with a guy named Blaine Hickory, who is twenty-one years old and plays a major part in his fathers company. Living alone in a big house, Blaine allows Ayame to live with him for only a year. She doesn't feel comfortable being in a guys house, with only him and herself. Ryujin is a smart-ass girl who has no social life because her only friends are the books in the library. She lives with her widowed mother but they barely spend time together. At first, Yeji was hesitant to accept extra classes but eventually, she did, under one condition, no one could know. She had to remain the cool girl in school and Ryujin didn't care. After a sudden switch in their lives, they stopped talking to each other, but what drove them closer again was the unexpected relationship between their parents.
