Tangaaq Eloqout lives in the small and depressed native reservation of Chikawai. His life, one of which is already characterized by abuse and loss, takes a sharp turn after he survives a drive by shooting on his street. When he's come to the realization of what had just happened, he takes off, never looking back. After hitching a ride with a Canadian truck driver, he experiences life for the first time off of his reservation in 16 years.

I combined all the Lakota Nation together in one story. Summary. The past is gone but not forgotten. A young boy named White Hawk has a rare gift. His parents do not have an answer to why he is going through this. He gets angry easily, he sees things that are not there, the elders believe it is a gift from the creator to talk to the ancestors that have passed on. Over the years White Hawk is getting worse, the older he gets the more he realizes that something is not right. Eventually, it will destroy his family and friends until he gets the proper help he needs.Concluida

When I was four, my family moved from Pascagoula, Mississippi to Alaska. Daddy was minister, and he went to Alaska as a missionary. That made me an MK, missionary's kid. This is the story of my experiences from age 4 to 9. Memory is a strange thing. Some of what I remember vividly, my mother said didn't happen the way I remember it. While Mama recently passed and is not around to argue with my interpretation, I apologize ahead of time to my siblings whose memories might vary from mine. While the story is based on my memories, I have added fictional details when my memory of those details fails me. This makes the story more readable. The bulk of the story takes place in Fort Yukon, an Indian village north of the Arctic Circle. While Indian may not be the politically correct term today, it was the word used for native Americans when I was a child and so that is what I will use.Concluida

A young Native child had a good life, his parents were so thrilled and full of joy that they were going to have a boy. When he was born life was good, they loved him unconditional, then as he got old enough to walk and talk, his life turned for the worst. His parents started to turn to drinking, because the father lost his job, and the mother's sister died of kidney failure, because she drank herself to death. Every pay check they got from the government, they would go to White Clay Nebraska, to buy liquor and stay there, they would leave him alone and he had to dress himself and get ready by himself for school, even make breakfast for himself, he didn't have anybody to go to. Then his parents would come home and pass out on the bed or have big parties at their house. When he was 10 that's when it started to get violent. But he loved his parents even though they beat him. He wants to help his parents get better, but that all changes when some foster parents step in to help.Concluida
