In the year 5092, Earth has been overrun by monsters that prey on humans. The only safe places are known as Safehouses, large metal domes that house single cities and are connected by metal walkways. The only other defense against the monsters are the Fighters, those who go to areas where the monsters have breached, kill the invaders, and repair the holes in the Safehouse.
Aira is just starting her new role as a Fighter when more and more breaches appear in her home, Safehouse 43. Aspiring, skilled, and fearless, she is confident that being a Fighter is what she is meant to do. However, the other members of Fighter Group 43 are less than willing to trust her and her belief that the new breaches were caused intentionally.
