Evangelene (or Eva, as everyone calls her) is a normal young girl who lives in Winnipeg with her mother and younger sister. Her best friend, Tami, is her best and closest friend, and Eva has always believed that her friend would never lie to her. But it turns out, Tami had been keeping a huge secret from Eva for a long time. In the middle of a rainy autumn night, Tami wakes Eva up and takes her down town, telling her all about the secret. As Eva discovers a whole new world and human species that exist outside her universe, she gradually learns that it's her world just as much as it is theirs. She is the Avatar, the master of all the bending elements that occupy this new world. As Eva and her five friends begin to attend an interesting school that holds many secrets, they learn of a dangerous threat to the people of Atheara.
