DESCRIPTION:

A blockbuster, near-future science fiction thriller, S.L. Huang's Zero Sum Game introduces a math-genius mercenary who finds herself being manipulated by someone possessing unimaginable power...

Cas Russell is good at math. Scary good. The vector calculus blazing through her head lets her smash through armed men twice her size and dodge every bullet in a gunfight, and she'll take any job for the right price.

As far as Cas knows, she's the only person around with a superpower...until she discovers someone with a power even more dangerous than her own. Someone who can reach directly into people's minds and twist their brains into Moebius strips. Someone intent on becoming the world's puppet master.

Cas should run, like she usually does, but for once she's involved. There's only one problem...
She doesn't know which of her thoughts are her own anymore.

My heart raced as I watched him tentatively lifting his hand to reach mine. Then I saw it. A flash of white in corner of my vision. Turning my focus away from the man, I focused on the white shape behind him. Craning my neck, I tried to inspect it further but my confusion only grew when I recognized it to be a patch of white feathers. Wait...feathers? He must have noticed my gaze because his lips quirked up into a proud smile and suddenly the patch of white grew into an entire wing. No, not just one, two wings...and they were attached to his back. -Rankings- #1 in Creature 3/03/2021 ❤️ #1 in Beast 1/27/2023 ❤️ #1 in Subject 8/27/2022 ❤️ #1 in Dystopia 3/25/2020 ❤️ #1 in Laboratory 4/27/2021 ❤️ #1 in Science-Fantasy 4/21/2023 ❤️ #2 Young Adult 4/18/2023 #2 Strong-Female-Character 12/20/2021 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED [NEW COVER 4/3/2021] [COMPLETED 4/9/2022] *WATTPAD EXCLUSIVE STORY*

The Anarchist of Ophridia (Horsemen Origins Book 4) by BenHartman3
11 parts Complete Mature
In order to save a world ruled by a bloodthirsty dictator, one man must become the galaxy's deadliest terrorist. Xing Ming Lee was a botanist on Earth who lived a peaceful and bountiful life. Ophridia, informally known as the "China Planet" was discovered by chinese astronomers and was seen as a solution to the country's overpopulation problem. Lee, along with millions of other Chinese natives, were uprooted and sent to the dark, cloud-clad world where the sun never touches the ground to work in the coal mines. Ophridia's ruler, Yiu Mei has held the planet in the grip of his hand for almost a decade, having seceded from the Core, and utilized her wealth to keep the Core out of his affairs. He also instigated a program known as the Xiongbu, or "the terror" in order to keep his rule absolute. However, tragedy strikes and Lee finds himself a victim of the Xiongbu, having been named a traitor by an unknown source. He manages to escape into the barren wilderness, where he has a vision: he must unleash his own form of terror upon Yiu Mei and overthrow the insidious tyrant. Xing Ming Lee returns to the sprawling city, only to find that Yiu Mei's grip has tightened. He must work quickly to recruit, train and gather a following so that he can disappear into the populace at will. As Lee's cause for resistance swallows the planet, he descends deeper into the darkness, and discovers just how far he must go to destroy a tyrannical government. This explosive, action-packed and haunting story was written in the spirit of Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Identity and Joseph Conrad's The Secret Agent.
