Kai is a smart young highschool boy with a dream to be a surgeon. He comes from a rich conservative Christian family. Kai has a loving boyfriend named Julien. Julien is a highschool jock who is a talented football player. He was raised in the foster system but when he turned 16 he became emancipated and lived on his own with his best friend and roommate Erin. Kai and Julien truly love each other but some people don't approve of that love. With nowhere to go and with almost nothing, the three of them all go to Julien's aunts'.
