He's a goalie that never takes his mask off, and his friend wants to find out why.

Before the start of the shortened 2020-21 NHL season, Antti Raanta retires. The Arizona Coyotes are forced to call up a new goalie. They select Janek Sykora from the ECHL, and the Slovakian does well despite his lack of experience.

There's something off about Janek Sykora, though, and it's not the fact that he is only the third openly gay player in the NHL: it's that he never takes his goalie mask off in public. He wears it during interviews and while sitting on the bench as a backup, refusing to wear the alternative baseball cap. He never goes out to restaurants.

When 21-year-old Ukrainian Artem Savaryn is called up from the AHL, he and Janek quickly befriend each other. Artem makes it his goal to find out what makes Janek hide his face behind a goalie mask.

Will he succeed in uncovering Janek's secret? And what happens when some obstacles develop that may damage their friendship?
