Sylva Endora has spent her entire life being shunned by her own brother and father, King Arobynn of Sankori. When said king is brutally murdered Sylva, who is not allowed to rule alone, is forced to present herself at the neighboring kingdoms presentation ceremony. This is where their king will choose his bride and future queen. 

      When the young princess is chosen the two kingdoms sing their joyous. But Sylva? She is enraged, but internalizes her anger in favor of the kingdom in which she never loved. Later that night her newly betrothed attempts to take what is his, scarring the poor girl in the process, and all hell breaks loose when she stabs him. 

     With the "assault" on the almost king the princess is to be public ally punished then banished from the kingdom. Her home, her land, her hell. The young girl stripped of her title now must live in a foreign land.... Exiled from her own hell.

Princess Zahra gave a shaky laugh, wondering if the girl knew she had the same, glowing eyes as herself. "Well, I think you look like a princess too." She shook her head. "I don't want to be a princess. I want to be a warrior." --- Like any world, Rova is plagued with issues such as social disbalances, gender inequality and pirates. It is also included in a 20 year war. Zahra, the princess of Rova, is unaware of these problems because of her sheltered lifestyle within the palace walls. Her only worries are the temper of her little sister, Jaylyn, and the fear of disappointing her parents, the King and Queen. However, her views are tampered with as she is kidnapped and pulled into the lifestyle of pirates where she is exposed to the class discriminations, the poverty, magic and the raw power that people, especially women, can have when driven and determined. Rye finds out about the assassination and calls for her public execution, but before he can kill her, she reveals the one secret she has been hiding for seventeen years. Instead of killing her Rye uses this to his advantage and gives Emerson a choice. With her choice the two are tied together and are a battle that might cost them their lives. With enemies from every region and those planning their demise, the two must fight for the throne with everything they've got. While they fight for the throne they also fight for each other's hearts. In a battle of wills the characters must risk their lives to save all seven regions or die trying.
