Beyond The Window

"....I can't live like this. Staying on the run, trusting people. They always end up hurting us. I just....can't..." The tears finally trickledown my face, for the first time; all the stress I had, flowing down, like a river. Getting this off my chest felt nice. "And now they have them.....and what can we do? It's just us...." My glossy brown eyes gazed up into Vincent blues, wondering why he'd stayed....he wasn't mean to me...he wasn't ignoring me....I had his full, undivided attention.

And to my surprise, the palm of his hands rest on my cheeks, and I couldn't help but gasp in surprise.

"We'll find them..." he whispers, lips touching my ear. ".......I promise."

And I believe him.
