Guardian of the Avatar, Legend of the Air Nation

After over one hundred years of War caused by the Fire Lord and constant uprising of the Fire Nation itself, Aang is the new Avatar. Managing to come back to create peace and harmony amongst the Four Nations, he now believes he can take on his role as Avatar. However, Sokka and Katara's sister Kata is the main part in this story. This tells the part about the Avatar's Guardian. The one nobody focused on and hoped to brush under the carpet to avoid remembering the tragedy of the loss of her. Known as a Guardian, her kind had disappeared for over four generations of Avatars, and become nothing more than a legend in old stories told by monks. When the new Avatar is discovered by the siblings, they soon discover that it wasn't just coincidence that they came across the twelve year old monk trapped in an iceberg. As Kata and Aang attempt to hone their bending skills, they have to also re-learn the natural partnership between Aang and his new protector, and she has to learn to survive her own mind for everyone else's sake. The two have to learn to create balance between their two powers combined. Between this and an unfortunate yet sudden collision into the path of romance, she just might break.
