It's been four years since the events of Toffee's return that drew Star and Marco apart.

Many things have changed since they have last seen each other: Star Butterfly is no longer an irresponsible and naive
princess, but a young woman learning to be Queen of Mewni, even if she has to make difficult sacrifices and Marco Diaz is no longer a teenage boy but a college student bent on becoming a doctor.

They have both long spent days dreaming of seeing each other again. But it never occurred to any of them that they actually would, however, no matter how much they wanted to, what had happened since they last saw each other had made them into strangers. Will they ever be as close as they were back then? Or will this only drive them farther and farther to each other than they've ever been?
