A new deadly virus is spreading rapidly, after patient zero escapes and ends up at a local festival infecting 100's of people. As the threat of the virus increases the government is forced to take action. They order everyone to stay in their homes unless they have permission and a police escort. The military makes food and resource drops to the people ordered to stay home. Anyone infected is taken to quarantine, but when Farah's mother gets sick and is taken , her father starts to question what they are really doing with the people they take. He searches desperately for answers, to no end. He breaks in to one of the medical centers, and discovers something horrifying. Before he can tell anyone what he found he mysteriously goes missing. 
              
The story then jumps to about 12 years later. 20 year old Farah is still trying to find out what happened to her parents. Things have only got worse since they went missing. There was no getting in or out of the city, unless you're taken to quarentine. She joins the resistance (against the government), and they end up planning a sneak attack on the military base where everyone goes to get food and get tested. During the attack Farah bumps into a now 24 year old patient zero. After helping her escape, she convides in Farah. She tells her that the government is lying about everything. Getting taken into quarentine might be the only way to find out the truth...

Until now. Our lives were threatened when a mysterious and deadly virus broke out, killing entire communities at a time. The council says that they have a plan; they said that in order to prevent the death of more innocent people they will test every man, woman, and child for signs of the virus. Any person found to have been infected will be quarantined, the ones who die will be given a proper burial while the ones who survive are deemed carriers and are to be sent to the home planet to prevent further outbreak. I was prepared for the people I know and some I love being taken away for the greater good, but I never would have expected that among the list of people being taken from my community, that I would be one of them.. I survived the quarantine. Now for the survival of my planet I, and the other Carriers must be sent to the home planet. I'm going back to Earth. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. It is not long before Jago, the ruler of Saffire, learns that a woman on Saffire is pregnant and he unleashes all his power to prevent the birth. Jago will not give up power. Demalynn is surprised to find out she is the Helper, but is astounded to learn the identity of the Gravidarum. Demalynn must battle to stay alive and fumbles towards the realization that Aiden is much more than a close friend. She is certain, with the certainty that only a seventeen-year-old can possess, that Aiden is her only true love.
