The Tales and Travels of Zren Janin (A Ghostwalker Saga Book)

Ngahuru is the great ghostwalker (spy) of the West Islands. When the West Island ambassador is murdered on the streets of Kerek City and the Kerek king wrongly arrests the ambassador's wife for treason, it is up to Ngahuru to get the children safely out of Kerek and on a ship back to the West Islands.
But Ngahuru is not alone in her concern for the children. Kerek's neighbors, Vikland to the east and Maasi to the south, also have their reasons for finding the children first. Vikland, a country without a seaport wants to march across Kerek and take Kerek's port. Maasi wants a land grab of the South Kerek orchards and fields to add to its wealth and size. Both countries want to find the children to earn the West Islands as an ally, or at least look have the West Islands King look the other way as they invade Kerek.
Please note: as Ngahuru races across Kerek and down through Maasi, gender is fluid throughout the book. All good ghostwalkers know the importance of hiding under the noses of their enemies.
