Even in a world full of magic and wonder, no one can escape dealing with very human problems. 

Claire, the outspoken witty new kid mermaid is fearful of being alone and separated, and just wants a group of friends to call her own. Elora, the wild one who always seems to have everything under control, has panic attacks due to her fear of change and doesn't want to be replaced. Abelle, the shy and timid wizard believes that she is powerless. Nick, the daring and wicked wizard brother wants to regain his family's affection. Lily, the bubbly vampire believes she ruins everything she touches. Thomas, the self-confident witch, struggles to let the past be the past. And Mystic, the pixie with a heart of goal and desire to be extroverted is suffering from anxiety after getting hurt. How do these students navigate the realities of being a teenager when a malicious entity is brewing up trouble in their school?

For those fans of The Magicians, Legacies, and Harry Potter, comes an original story of friendship, siblingship, adventure, and magic. Overcome fear as you step into  Venefica and live the lives of eight interconnected students.

AN: This is not just my story. In fact, it is the story of many people who poured their hearts out into a forum years ago. But just because this story isn't just mine, doesn't mean I don't have a say in what happened. This is my part of my story. The story that I like to think happened to Claire all those years ago, rewritten and polished.

Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. I am working on rewriting this story and when I do there will be the trigger warnings in the correct places.) (small teaser.) No one sees me. I am a ghost. I brush against the wooden fence. No one will believe it was me who disappeared into a fence and appeared on the other side of school. I stare at my brother. He made eye contact with me, confirming my suspicions. We both saw it. Whoever that was is like us. "Did you just see that?" I ask "You're that person my brother and I saw," He says. Oh no... Why then? "Wait! You're-" Completed just editing. (Don't be too harsh please)

I'M GOING TO START EDITING THIS PROBABLY. If you go to Our Lady of the Black Veil Academy, chances are you know the names Cass Landry, Rebecca Lovelace, and Mallory Meksawan. Cass Landry being the mysterious new girl with a tendency to practice magic illegally, Rebecca being notorious for lighting up every room she walks into, and Mallory being the second in command it-girl of Black Veil, as famed as she is feared. After a magical attempt to escape detention goes terribly, horribly wrong and their ethics teacher winds up dead (ironic, they know), Cass must band together with Rebecca, the girl she "totally doesn't like", and Mallory, another girl she doesn't like (but like...for real this time) to find a spell that can bring their teacher back to life before her situation becomes permanent. A spell of this caliber, however, requires that they venture into the underground world of their picturesque town, striking a deal with a powerful gang leader that not only raises the stakes, but gives them an even tighter timeline. And though as a witch Cass has personal experience with life and death, the pressure that she's facing now might just be too tough to handle. Luckily, she's not alone. Once in the Garden, they find themselves caught up in a conflict larger than either of them anticipated. They come under the attack of an army of mind controlled soldiers trying to keep them from the potion and kick them out of the Garden. They face an Evil Spirit that has taken control of the hearts of the once kind and caring people of Yllop. And they fight to restore the power of the true ruler of the Garden. The Search for the Eoz Potion explores the reasons why people will sometimes upend their lives and put themselves in harm's way in order to provide a better life for others. At its heart, this is a story about friendship and the power of sacrifice. In enduring all of these trials to help their friend, Hailey and Claire learn to trust each other and develop a confidence they didn't know they could find. This book was written as a project with my kids who were 10, 9, and 5 at the time. I had the basic idea and they filled in the details with things they thought would be interesting and exciting. I then tried to fit it all together into one story. The result is The Search for the Eoz Potion.
