Carter Chole lived with her mother, father, 3-year-old brother, and aunt in their mansion in Mason, Illinois, her entire life. When her family must pick up and move to Jasper, South Carolina, strange things start happening in the woods around their new home. Carter meets some strange people, but when the truth comes out, will she run? Or will she fight for what she believes in?
