After the group left the plant, they went off to find a cure for the infection. Eventually, the cure was found! The four tracked down all of the infected and uninfected them all. It took time, but things slowly went back to the way it is.
But with Mr. and Mrs.P's location still unknown, no one is really safe. As one once said,
History does find a way to repeat itself. Right?
