There's something about red-headed little girls that seems to make everyone believe that they have to be the most delightful little children who talk too much and have a larger imagination than the number of freckles on their nose. But it's not 1908 anymore. Matthew Cuthbert isn't going to pick up Anne Shirley in a buggy. Matthew Cuthbert is going to meet Anne's social worker first, and then will find a girl who was always meant to be happy, but never quite was because it's a dog eat dog world, and she had found herself on the wrong end of that equation.
