This story is to bring awareness to how the world today is and what it could be.
Two girls, two different races, one love. Sam and Nadia raised thinking that they couldn't interact with an opposite race and only to love their own. It was even banned to love the same gender. Slowly they stand together and change the world. One heart at a time.
This is also based around 1990's. Racism still being quite problematic but lightening a bit. It is not modern so it won't be to high tech items. If there is anything I need to change (preferably from the insight of POC, please tell me so I can have it more accurate.)

She feels like the universe is forever against her. And never thought that, even after everything she's endured, she would ever get her 'Happily Ever After'. Avery was finally happy, the woman she loved so much for so long, finally loved her back. Her 'Happily Ever After' was within reach. At least that's what she thought, until the woman managed to shatter Avery's already broken heart into a million pieces. Months later, the wound still fresh, she packs up her stuff and moves back to the city where she was born. She thinks being in a different city and reconnecting with her childhood best friend, will help her heal. But, nothing seems to change at all. At least not until one night about 2 months later. Siblings get separated all the time right? then if you ever find your sibling after years and years of being apart and not even knowing the other existed you'd be thrilled. right? Right? WRONG. Sam, at 17. finds out that her whole life has been a lie. her parents aren't her parents, her beloved brother and favorite person in the world isn't really her biological brother. what would you do if you were in a situation like that? but atleast you'd find out that you had a twin. A person who suddenly finds out that they have a twin is supposed to be really happy. then your twin would be thrilled that they got reunited with their twin and that would make things easier right?
