Vengeance never tasted so sweet.

Malik and Abel were young men who enjoyed the small pleasures of life. Life was easy and routine with no unexpected surprises along the way. They had little care for the world around them, but all that changed when their life went up in flames.

Literally.

The two brothers managed to escape with their lives but the marks on their soul left them far from unscathed. Hardened and set on revenge, Malik puts his focus on protecting the only family he has left, his brother. While Abel is more than capable of protecting himself, Malik isn't leaving anything to chance.

With the song of revenge drawing Malik in, can he put aside his fury for the sake of his people? Or is the call for blood too strong for him to resist?

Warning: The events of this short story take place years before the start of Fractured Past, Book One of a Talnarin Novel Series. This prequel is told from the perspective of Malik, the main protagonist of the series.

Obsession is the height of passion, but what does one do when they find themselves enthralled with their enemy. Talamayas Sol loses his mother when he stumbles upon a mage in the deserts of his territory, and he is plunged into a despair he's never known. Stricken with grief, he imprisons the murderer and wipes out every last mage of the Song-a human supremacist mage family that had murdered his kind for nothing more than the joy of their extinction. Through his pain, Talamayas finds himself leaning on the man in his dungeons, be it only to torture him for the relief it grants. It was anger at first, but as he learns more about the circumstances of his mother's death and the terrors that fill Wren Song's nightmares, he is inescapably tethered to the man in his dungeons. Why can't he just kill Wren Song and move on with his life? What keeps him close to the mage and anxious when he leaves his side? Is there more to it than obsession and a need to crush the enemy of his past? If there is, what does that mean for him and his people? Take a step back to the start and follow Talamayas Sol and Wren song through their struggle in the deserts of the east. Learn just where their animosity began and how working together changes and shapes the hearts and minds of men grown in a time when violence was the only way forward. (This book is Standalone, but does reference events of the Dusk Trilogy) (Starts at the beginning of Dusk Trilogy, and Ends after it's completion)
