Though this qest is honorable and righteous, the dangers that await them are exponentially worse than they could ever imagine. Whether they can save the world depends on whether they can survive themselves. Mature rating for blood, gore and depictions of violence. TW: mentions of drunkards and beer, mention of physical abuses, a description of trypophobia, claustrophobia, and other phobias, and descriptions of nasty cryptids. There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school. Displeased with the finished product, I began to rewrite it here, starting June 2015, then again in 2020. I am quite satisfied with the result, and am sure this will be the final edition. This isn't the first book of the series, but there's no spoilers for 'The World is Larger than it Seems', so you can start on this one. The story is far from finished, however, and I hope to eventually finish the series.

However she wasn't the only one taken since she grabbed her infant, Hiccup Haddock the Third, to keep him away from a fire started by the dragon who was startled by her husband. Unfortunately she couldn't grab her other son, a toddler, in time and he was left behind with his father. Over the years, the boy grew up hating dragons and counted down the days until he could join the warriors in battle, defending his village and avenging his brother and mother. However his father always kept him inside the forge during raids in fear of losing the only family he had left. There, the boy became a bit of an inventor as well as a decent blacksmith. However all of that changed when one night, using one of his inventions, he shot down the most dangerous and mysterious dragon in the entire Archipelago. The Night Fury...
