Shen Wei was a recognized psychologist, a professor at the prestigious Dragon City University and a collaborator of the Special Investigation Unit of the police, in cases of serial murders. Zhao Yunlan is an unwanted detective in his department and finds a warm welcome in another where he learns that life is more complicated than he could ever imagine. Shen Wei is on holiday but not the kind everyone else would consider and is shot by accident or not, he doesn't know, but he calls out for help and his other half answers even though they have not met. An old enemy returns, an old character also returns, and an old face leaves to start a new job. The main characters are taken from the TV series Guardian and adapted to suit the stories. The series was adapted from the book by Priest, who is a wonderful writer. Without her we wouldn't be able to enjoy following her brilliant characters.
