"I thought you left, I thought you weren't going to be back for the day. I saw my chance, and I took it. I'm the final girl, I have to make it through this. My voice is wavering, my grip on the handle is weak, every part of me has turned timid, but somehow the meaning behind each word seems to reach him. "I don't think you're crazy anymore," I manage through clenched teeth. He stops his laughter and takes on a more serious look, staring straight through me to figure out what I'm thinking.

"You're just lost," I reply, slightly lowering the knife, yet still keeping my hands wrapped tightly around it. If I can defuse the situation, he won't make me continue this theatrical representation.
