Homeworld's Little Prodigy

Onyx is a fragile gem that was created in one of White Diamond's colonies. She's small, shy, and a most peculiar little gem. She's lived in the Diamond Palace all her existence and has never been allowed outside the walls. Though her dream is to see the outside world, she is loyal to the Great Diamond Authority and refuses to do anything that would upset them.

However, things change drastically when a gem envious of Onyx's status abducts Onyx and sends her off to the rebel planet and failed colony, Earth. All seems fine as Onyx remains loyal to Homeworld even after coming into contact with Rebel Gems until she has a fated meeting with a Lapis Lazuli who's been trapped on Earth for eons.

Suddenly, with a new friend, Onyx becomes conflicted with her feelings and realizes her life was not as she thought it was. Will she rebel with the Crystal Gems? Will she remain loyal to Homeworld? Or will she choose neither side and take her own path?

A/N: This story contains OCs and is a non-canon timeline to any existing comics or AUs of Steven Universe (but you probably already knew that). Onyx is a gem that I created inspired solely on the Gem's symbolism itself and the fact that there are no Onyx gems seen in Steven Universe or Steven Universe Future (Sardonyx not withstanding). The timeline will be sporadic and will contain events from the original, just in a different order. Some events from the series may not even occur in the story at all. If you are not a fan of this kind of story, please do not read. Also, Chapters are written in advance so new Chapter titles will be revealed after a new chapter is published.
