A closeted half-elf goes to an SCA reenactment camping event, and pointy ears are definitely not period. Redcap slavers attack and it's up to half-trained, 19 year old Dusty to buy time for the fighters to get back. 

The Children of the Broken Dawn series takes place 20-some years after a faery apocalypse, when humanity has lost all its cities, wireless tech, and most industry... but still indulges in daft hobbies, especially of the sort to help you survive a low tech future.

Enjoy my total Mary Sue of a character kicking MAGA-cap wearing troll butt! Based on years of reenactment camping experience and my high school friends. No romance in this one, it's half fight scenes and the other half snarking about reenactments.
