As he lay on the rough carpet of the ground, sunlight beamed onto his face through the gaps in the bordered windows. He gulped and drove his eyes into the direction of the rusting metal door and stared at the decaying hinges whilst listening for a sound, but there was nothing. He knew in this place there was nothing to be heard however the screaming in his mind tricked him into thinking something was there. At night he would hear ringing in his ears and his eardrums would pound and pound onwards through the darkness until he could take no more. Into the confined spaces he shouted for people, anyone.
