Figured since there are other Disney parallels that deal with Sora and Riku, what happened at the of ReMind might be a parallel as well
Also, the cover picture has little to nothing to do with the story, I just didn't want to use someone else's picture, but I only had a traditional piece I made on a post-it note and figured I should digitally add color and this is what came of it

In this story, the Kingdom Hearts image of innocence is stripped away and you see the classic characters in a whole new light. If you wanted a drama with a whole lot of romance, you got it. Times Worth A Change (A Kingdom Hearts 1 Fanfiction) {OLD}
{{Book 1 of Flipside's Kingdom Hearts Saga}} Ceres is a young boy at the age of thirteen to fourteen, holding a Keyblade and the powers of The Prince of Empathy. He was adopted by Aerith after the fall of Radiant Garden, his Homeworld, that fall resulting in his separation from his siblings and grandmother. He only has fuzzy recollective memories of that fall, one of the only things he remembers being a boy who used to be his friend and a girl who looked similar to him, his sister, Kairi. Ceres trains every day to one day reclaim what the fall of Radiant Garden stole from him, while trying to find clues to what else he is missing from his memories. That all comes to a pause when he runs into an old friend, the boy he somewhat remembers, Imran. Imran's appearance is unexpected. However, all is not as it seems when he shows. Imran changed too much for Ceres to even recognize him. To Ceres, he acts strangely, seemingly afraid of everything, physical contact makes him flinch, he doesn't like to have conversations for too long, everything about Imran is a complete mystery to Ceres. Despite that, Ceres still tries to understand him. That attempt to understand Imran comes with a price however as he learns the truth about why his friend changed and the extent to Imran's abilities, along with how much power he holds. This journey isn't just shared by the two boy's but by others as well. The journey also belongs to Islanders named Sora, Riku, Kairi, Lake, Sarah, Azure, Malory and Ivone. Lake, Sarah and Azure are friends drifted apart by the past. While Lake refuses to talk about the past, Sarah and Azure push to at least bring up parts, despite Lake's persistence to make them stop. Lake's own memories are stirred however when her group runs into a girl by the name of Valley, Lake's sister. Ceres and his allies have to deal with Maleficent while also dealing with her son and Riku's betrayal, all while trying to save Kairi, may this journey be a safe one...or not.
Revenge of the Hearts
There is only one thing standing between Sora's slumber and awakening; Roxas. Sakura leads him to his tragic end and is reunited with Sora as payment. However, this isn't a time to celebrate-Organization XIII is on the rise and they are getting closer and closer in achieving their goal of obtaining Kingdom Hearts for themselves, which Sora and Sakura must stop together. As the two head out on another journey while along the way, Sora looks for clues to the whereabouts of Riku and Kairi, which Sakura knows the answers to, but knows that she cannot tell as she made made promise to her dearly beloved not to until the time is right.Completa
