Jenna wanted to die. Her friends are the only people who care about her, even her parents didn't care what she had to say about herself. The only thing her mom would do is try to make her something she's not. But, that's not the only reason she wanted to die. All she ever wanted was a boyfriend. And as a sophomore in high school, it's still something she's never had. Until now. Until Gus came. Gus was the perfect boy that everybody wanted, and, of course Jenna's thinking to herself, "Why would Gus be crazy enough to date a 15 year old virgin whose never had a boyfriend? Or real parents that care about her." Jenna was always doubtful about Gus wanting to date her. If she ever saw him, she froze. If he said 'Hi' or something, she would stutter. Jenna just wasn't the type of person who could flirt or even talk to boys. But now? She's totally ready. Her sixteenth birthday was coming up, and she knew just what to do.
