Story 2 of short Steampunk story, an aircraft officer and a postman try to find the cure of a strange poison in an island full of dragons and sky pirates.

To me, Once upon a Steampunk is a captivating journey into an alternate reality, where the gears of the Industrial Revolution turn in harmony with fantastical elements and a touch of Victorian elegance. In this mesmerizing tale, the air is thick with steam, and the clinking of mechanical contraptions resounds through the cobbled streets.

Immerse yourself in a world where steam-powered marvels and clockwork wonders coexist with corsets, top hats, and elaborate fashion. The landscape is a fusion of the familiar and the extraordinary, where towering airships navigate the skies and intricately designed automatons carry out daily tasks.

Also embroiled in the plot is Captain Calvin Cooper, the empress's man. An immortal from Earth.

Nathaniel has been a pirate for half his life, sailing the clouds on airships powered by steam and magic. He has grown tired of the danger and hardship and wants to start a new life free of his past, perhaps with a woman by his side. This is a rewrite of my earlier short story "A pirate's last flight." I decided to rewrite it for a couple reasons. First to refine it and polish it a bit more. Second, and more importantly, to put it in the low fantasy/steampunk inspired world I'm currently writing other stories in.
