Sarah Fern, who called herself Flare, was not your average girl. She was a hybrid, a dragon hybrid. She is abused and insulted everywhere, and she can't escape. One day, a huge storm covers the sky. It stopped over the city that Flare lived in. It didn't move from that spot for 5 years, and nobody came out of their house, afraid of the lightning flashing outside. Flare runs away from home, into the storm. She seeks shelter in a covered alley way and stays the night. She is found while she is sleeping and brought into a house with others.
