Bai Mingxia knew all too well what it was like to be "different". Growing up in a conservative American town, she was always seen as an alien to her peers. Growing up in a Chinese-American home, she learned to deal with the scrutinization of others and stand tall in her identity; until it's foundation crumbled. After a job opportunity was presented in South Korea, the Bai family moved in hopes of a better fortune/more welcoming community. But it was alienation all over again for Mingxia.

Chenle is a member of the South Korean boy group known as "NCT". Becoming one of the last members in the Dream lineup, he, along with a fellow Chinese boy, were thrown into stardom in a blink of an eye. Learning a new language, dealing with discriminatory managers, and hard work pouring into his dream, he found his passion flickering and missing home.

By a chance of fate the two met, and maybe, just maybe, the two help each other out.
