Carve My Tomb

Minor Description: Harry Potter decides to study ancient runes, and it's a good thing too, because it just about saves Ronald Weasley's life. But when a new student joins the class, Harry begins to have more to worry about than his best friend lying in a hospital bed and the Dark Lord that is after his head.

Actual Summary: After one of Grindelwald's attacks on Little Whinging, Harry receives a floo call at Hogwarts alerting him that his best friend was in the general vicinity of the assault-on-village. When Harry arrives at the scene, it is up to him to get his best friend out of a blocked cave that has been magically induced in structure so the captured can not escape. Harry gets Ronald out, and suffers the wrath of the Headmaster, Armando Dippet, for leaving the safety of Hogwarts without permission. But that turns out to be the least of his worries when Tom Riddle starts taking Ancient Runes for Extra Credit and notices Harry's 'Potter Luck'. Tom starts paying more attention to the raven-haired boy's feats, and starts to wonder that if he became close to him, it would wear off on him. So he attempts to befriend Harry Potter. Call it what you want, but he is just about as bad at offers as Draco Malfoy. The only difference between Malfoy and Riddle's rejection was, one backed off and settled for making fun of Harry, and the other made a vow to kill.
