The antique, wooden door rattled, struggling to open. Immediately, we leaped behind the wall and made as little noise as possible. My heart was racing. The door finally barged open and crashed against the weak, ancient walls. "Who's in there?" a deep, booming voice yelled. A light gleamed across the dusty, long-lived room causing it to reveal my brand new coat i had stupidly left behind. The foot steps creaked louder and louder until i felt his presence right beside me.

As the door creaked open, a chill through the thick air, carrying the faint scent of candle wax and something far older something that didn't belong in this world. The room was dark, leaving the only flickering green light emanating from the candles and the strange symbols scattered on the floor. And there, standing in the center of the whole star of the candles, was the translucent figure of a boy she immediately recognised. His eyes pleading for a release only she could offer. But at that moment, she realized that openning this door wasn't just about uncovering the past, it was about the prices she would have to pay, confronting the horrors that still lingered, waiting for someone too brave or too foolish, enough to face them.
