A dead Earth. The past, forgotten along with it. There were no more gods and few supernatural beings left.

Endless lives turned to a blur for the phoenix named Vatra. She'd had only one calling-dispatching out-of-control gods. Lacking a purpose, Vatra was lost to wander as a mercenary for hire.

In the deep expanse of space, gods had hidden. And with their reappearance, Vatra would be drawn into a war amidst the unlikeliest of allies.

They were born from the stars, but the world refuses to let them stay. It has been three years since the Genesis Flares, the solar phenomenon that gave birth to Astrans: beings with abilities beyond human comprehension. Some see them as miracles, others as abominations but to those in power, they are a threat that must be controlled, exploited, or eradicated. Fear spreads like wildfire, and war is inevitable. Among the displaced and the hunted, a survivor fights to carve out a future for her people, refusing to let them be erased from history. By her side stands the one who saved her, a sister in all but blood, a friend who has vowed to protect her, even if it means keeping dangerous secrets. As alliances fracture and loyalties are tested, they must navigate a world that has already decided what they are: enemies. In the heart of the conflict, two minds once dedicated to progress now wrestle with the weight of their own creations. One, a scientist bound by failing health, seeks to undo the greatest mistake of his life before time runs out. The other, an engineer thrust unwillingly into war, struggles between duty, regret, and the burden of being the only one left to fight. Lines blur between vengeance and justice, survival and sacrifice. The choices they make will determine not only the outcome of the war but the future of the Astrans themselves. Before the war, before the fear, they were all the same. They were all stardust once.

But when a strange new star appears near Orion's Belt, Astraea's search for answers leads her down a dangerous path that challenges everything she's ever known. As she uncovers hidden truths about the star-and the planet it might actually be-Astraea discovers that humanity's departure from Earth wasn't an accident. It was a secret betrayal, one that her father and the government have tried desperately to cover up. Armed with a forbidden video tape and the shocking truth of a desolate Earth, Astraea will stop at nothing to uncover the past and change the future. But when she crashes onto the surface of Earth, the world she thought was lost, she meets Owen, a handsome survivor with his own secrets. As their lives intertwine in a world of intrigue, rebellion, and romance, Astraea must decide whether to stay with Owen and fight for Earth's future, or return to the station where her father's empire still looms. "The Star That Wasn't" is a high-stakes journey through a broken galaxy, where love, betrayal, and the search for truth collide in a race against time. Will Astraea save Earth, or will her family's dark secrets destroy everything she's fought for?

burned to ashes Hint hints SOME of my stories are connected to the Age Of POWERS: last part :D She was supposed to be dead-burned to ashes in the fires that had claimed her once peaceful life. But Ember Wren, the woman with the power of the Phoenix, refuses to stay down. Captured by enemies who sought to extinguish her flames for good, Ember awakens in a world where her powers are fading, drained by mysterious forces, and her memories fractured. Though she was once an unstoppable force, she's now vulnerable, lost in a world where she can no longer trust herself or the people around her. But Ember is not one to give in. Even weakened, she is unkillable. As she slowly rediscovers her abilities, unlocking her many powerful and unpredictable transformations, her past comes rushing back in pieces-full of secrets, lies, and the unresolved romance that haunts her heart. But danger looms. Her enemies are relentless, and they want her powers for themselves. To survive, she must find her strength again while navigating the murky waters of trust, betrayal, and love.
